6.
Every other night for the last few days i continued to roam the territory alone at night. Sure, I got into trouble when i was caught, but that made sneaking out the next night after even more fun.

One night, as I was tip-toeing out of the apprentices den, a half-asleep new whispered, "For StarClan's sake, Mosspaw, can't you just sleep here for once?"
I hesitated. "Sorry i woke you Ghostpaw. But it's too crowed in the den for me. Besides, I'm not tired."
"You will be after Stonefur takes you running tomorrow," Ghostpaw purred, fully awake now.
"Ha, very funny. She makes me do lots of that anyway because my legs are so short." I frowned.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to be mean. I'll come with you tonight though."
"Okay but for StarClan's sake be quiet!"

**

"This is fun," Ghostpaw's voice echoed around us as we walked through the silent forest. "Kind of creepy though."
"Are you a cat or a mouse?" I whispered back teasingly.
"Shut up, Mosspaw, you've done this lots of times." Ghostpaw nudged me so that I stumbled.
"I know," I grinned.
We were interrupted by the call of a Night-Owl. "Aren't owls bad omens?" Ghostpaw stood rigid. I thought this too, but I didn't want to go back already. I shrugged.
"I'm not a medicine cat, but we'll be ok."
"But we havent even started fighting practice!"
I sighed. He had a point. "Fine. Be a scaredy-cat and go back to camp.   I'm going exploring."

I ran off, leaving Ghostpaw behind. I heard water and changed direction, towards it. The trees thinned out and I found myself at NightClan's border.

"Whats a small apprentice like you doing out at midnight? You aren't spying, are you?" a harsh growl called from the other side of the river. A fox-like creature stepped out from the shadows of a large rock.
Alarmed, I started to back away. "Who are you?"
"No-one," was the reply. For the first time i noticed that this wasn't a fox, just another cat like me.
"I'm Mosspaw,"  I meowed.
"The deputies daughter? Goldstar's kin?" the cat asked; I nodded. "Wow! I saw a Gathering once. I saw all the leaders. Lucky you! They say the kin of the current leaders will be leaders someday."

I shook my head. What rubbish,  I thought. As if I'll be leader.

"What's with the star?" the stranger tipped her head to one side, eyes curious.
"What star?"
The one on your shoulder. Is it a birth mark?”
I looked down on my right shoulder. Nothing. As I gazed blankly at my left, a patch of fur started to gleam brightly, robbing me of  my sight for a few moments. When the light died down, there was a crisp white patch of fur on my shoulder in the shape of a star. I looked up to question the strange cat, but she'd vanished.

StarClan has chosen you to guide your Clan to safety,” a voice whispered in my ear, yet when I turned there was no-one. “there will be many strange times ahead, where your judgement will be clouded. But have no fear, StarClan will guide you; you are the subject of our prophecy.”

What prophecy?”

The heart of the forest, known to all but
hides in secret. Stars shall fall upon the heart and each Clan will
finally be at peace.”

based on instinct alone, I ran straight back to camp.
